Level 2 Sports Trainer

The Level Two Sports Trainer program builds on the basic knowledge and skills acquired in the Level 1 course. Level 2 Sports trainers take on more senior roles at their respective clubs, have a greater skills & knowledge base to draw upon and may act as mentors for Level 1 trainers.

Prerequisite

Current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certification (within last 2 years)

Current HLTAID009- Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification (within last 12 months

Exisitng Level 1 Sports Trainer (Evidence must be submitted)

Letter from club president or Level 2 or higher Sports Trainer verifying minimum of 12 months working as a Level 1 Sports Trainer with a minimum of 50 hours work as a Sports Trainer

 

Certification

​

Upon successful completion of the Level 2 Sports Trainer Course participants will receive:

  • A statement of attainment issued by Allen's Training (RTO 90909) for the following nationally recognised units of competency:​​

    • HLTAID015- Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy

    • PUAEME008- Provide pain management

    • HLTAID009- Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

    • PUAEME007- Provide emergency care for suspected spinal injury

*Optional Provide Advanced First Aid (HLTAID014)- Additional costs apply

Category 5 Emergency Care delivers nationally recognised training on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909

  • Professional Sports Trainers Australia  Level 2 Sports Trainer Certificate of Currency​​ (Valid for 12 months)

​​

In order to meet the Professional Sports Trainers Australia requirements and achieve a certificate of currency issued by Professional Sports Trainers Australia (valid for 12 months) students will be required to meet the following industry standards:

Additional skills taught in the Level 2 Sports Trainer Certificate:

Comprehensive taping session including Kinesiology Taping

Injury Prevention- Stretching, Warm Up, Cool Down

Concussion Recognition & Management

*Introduction to Sports Massage

Mentoring Sports Trainers

*Pre-course study is required

Duration- 2 full days face to face (Self paced online theory is required to be completed prior to the face to face component)

Group bookings  are available with flexible schedules.– Eg– 4 nights instead of 2 full days. (minimum numbers apply)

Cost- $450/person (group discounts available)

Successful participants will also receive free 12 months membership to Professional Sports Trainers Australia.
